How are humans exposed?

Human exposure is mainly due to eating of food and drinking liquids which were in contact with BPA. BPA can leach from plastic container into food and beverages or in medicine if stored in a container having BPA. heat, scratch and roughness on container release more BPA to contained food, liquid or medicine. Usually, it gets rid of the body in 24 hours, but repeated exposure can produce measurable body level of BPA which can produce harmful effect to body on short or long run.

Animals are more studied compare to human to check the effect of BPA. In some studies, fertility, negative behavioral effects, fatal death, low birth weight, changes in brain development of offspring have been reported in animals. Polycystic ovary syndrome, miscarriage and DNA related defect has been studies and reported to have association between BPA exposure to human being.
